COOKIE BAKERS WANTED!
The Friends of the DPL Sponsor On-Going Cookie Sale

In 2010 we raised $700 selling cookies and baked goods, all of it going directly to the children’s programs.  We are always looking for new bakers to sign-up to keep the cookie basket full. This involves a simple one week commitment to provide goodies to sell at the library (details can be found on the Friends Page of the DPL website).

If you would be willing to bake for the sale, please email Roni Pekins, or simply Click Here to access a master calendar, then type your name and email address on the Tuesday of the week that you would like to cover.  Thanks!

Calling All Kindle Users!
DPL will soon offer eBooks for the Kindle
Got a Kindle and want to access eBooks at the Durham Public Library? It will soon be a reality! Amazon and OverDrive recently announced the Kindle Library Lending Program, in which Kindle customers can borrow and enjoy eBooks from our library. The program is scheduled for launch later this year.

Our existing collection of downloadable eBooks will be available to Kindle customers, who will be able to browse for titles on any desktop or mobile operating system, check out a title with a library card, and then select Kindle as the delivery destination. The borrowed title will then be able to be enjoyed using any Kindle device and all of Amazon’s free Kindle Reading Apps. Stay tuned for more information on the launch of the Kindle Library Lending program as it becomes available!
